Ripple-bedded sandstoneLithogenous sedimentary rock.This sample of sandstone formed from fine-medium grained sand that was deposited in very shallow water. The ripple marks suggest that it was deposited near shore on a beach or tidal flat. The ripple marks show the current flow direction at time of deposition (from bottom to top on this slab).
